Small business lending drops in 2022 but is still the second best on record in Nebraska
Small business lending dropped off considerably in the past year in Nebraska, but the numbers were still strong.According to the Small Business Administration, there was $198.7 million worth of SBA loan guarantees in the state in its 2022 fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, which was down about $45 million from the record number in fiscal year 2021.But the total loan volume in 2022 is still the second highest ever in Nebraska and was $30 million more than the year ranking third.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — Another Small Business Saturday has come and gone, with dozens of people taking downtown Wausau to shop small.
Allison Magnuson opened The Local in downtown Wausau in 2017, this year is her sixth small business Saturday.
“It’s exciting to see so many people out and about today.” said Magnuson.
Business owners say the dedicated day makes them feel appreciated.
“The feeling that we’re making a difference in our community and in the lives of all of our makers as well.” said Magnuson.
She said small businesses are the core of this community.

Leading up to holiday season in past years, Andover native Mike Lamagna ran up and down Newbury Street in Boston, begging everyone he knew who owned a storefront on the busy city avenue to allow him to host a small pop-up event for his business, Long Wharf Supply Co.

The 2022 Somerset Junior Woman’s Club Small Business Bounce Poker Run will be held this weekend, offering the opportunity to have a little fun with one’s shopping — while supporting the businesses that are the backbone of the community.

Small Business Group Challenges Law Requiring Corporate-Ownership Disclosure
A small business group is suing to block a law that was designed to stop money-laundering by rooting out the use of anonymous shell companies.
