How Twitter serves as the town hall of crypto

Twitter is different for crypto than it is for other areas of interest. To a certain extent, the discussion of the industry on Twitter isn’t about the industry — it is the industry. Why it matters: Twitter is (for now) indispensable to following blockchain technology. What might look to outsiders like idle badgering and joking, is in fact the process of people forming allegiances and making deals.Crypto Twitter is the discourse layer running on top of all the various blockchains, where people collectively decide what is and isn’t important from one moment to the next.Zoom out: If you…

City’s finance committee hears requests to appropriate funds

Cambridge City Council’s Finance Committee considered a number of requests from various departments, during its meeting this week. City Utility Director Lou Thornton made a request to appropriate $220,000 from the Unappropriated Sewer Fund. Of those funds $20,000 would go to sewer supplies, $20,000 to sewer miscellaneous service, $50,000 to sewer vehicle maintenance, $10,000 to sewer miscellaneous, $60,000 to sewer capital improvement and $60,000 to sewer equipment. “When we first put our budgets together in October of last year, it’s very difficult to anticipate what’s happened to the economy,” Thornton explained. “As a result between the budget being from last…

How a Knoxville delivery boy built one of the world’s most respected newspapers

Former New York Times publisher Adolph Ochs was considered a journalism trailblazer in wanting to cover news stories objectively at a time when newspapers were known for often being full of partisan political stories. But there was bit of partisan pride, at least, as several Knoxville citizens recently commemorated the important role Knoxville played in Ochs’ newspaper career. It hangs on the northeast corner of Market Square alongside…

“Having been in the carnivore and ketogenic space for over 7 years, I came to the Keto-Adapted coaching programs with a decent amount of knowledge and an established coaching business. What I didn’t realize was how much more I was about to absorb, learn and use in my own coaching practice. The courses themselves, and the incredible bonus content, have ramped up my knowledge considerable, especially with difficult health situations I might not have yet encountered. Alongside the courses is the added benefit of getting time with Maria and Craig to ask questions, receive guidance and stay current in the…

Catch it, Kill it, Bin it… Then What? – RoSPA Workplace Safety Blog

Core messaging during the COVID -19 pandemic has focused on the role each citizen plays in bringing the situation under control. Good hygiene and social distancing have been spoken about widely and it is acknowledged that the latter is the primary risk control measure. The role of key workers has also been widely discussed, such as the value of NHS staff and care workers, the role of educators and the rapid transition to home schooling. And as I sit here at home thinking about the 27million households in the UK on lockdown, and the impact on people and their communities,…

Online Driving Courses – RoSPA Workplace Safety Blog

In the UK, one of the few growth sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic has been transportation services and in particular, food delivery. By the end of March 2020, revenue in the UK online groceries delivery segment was up by 11.5% compared with Jan-March in the previous year. Despite the amount of traffic on our roads falling to levels not seen since 1955 during the pandemic, the number of people driving for work to deliver food and other items has increased. In the same month, Tesco added more than 200 new vans and hired another 2,500 drivers. Other supermarkets such as…
