Wichita Northrock Business Park is fully leased for the first time
At a time when there are plenty of not-so-happy business stories to go around, it’s perhaps worthy to stop and recognize a positive one.
For the first time in its almost 40-year history, the Northrock Business Park at K-96 and North Rock Road is completely leased. That’s 300,000 square feet over 18 buildings.
“So it’s not a small property,” said Ross Way of Anderson Management.
“Business has been so good that we are full.”
Way said he normally tries to keep an inventory, which Northrock has accomplished with the continual addition of buildings following its 1983 opening.
Now, Way said, “We’re all built out.”
With the pandemic, Way was concerned “that we’d be in trouble, but that did not happen.”
“It still kind of baffles me,” he said. “Of course, we don’t have the ups and downs that the coasts have.”
Way to say the success is from a combination of existing tenants growing and new businesses coming to Wichita. There’s also one nearby company that outgrew its building so is leasing extra space at Northrock.
Way said he also thinks some companies and individuals are tired of remote working.
“We’re all really happy about it and just determined to continue to take care of our existing tenants.”
