Jeddah port gets 434m dollar boost

Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) and CMA CGM Group will invest $434 million to develop and operate Terminal 4 at Jeddah Islamic Port, in collaboration with Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), marking one of the largest foreign direct investments in Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector.
The agreement was signed in Paris, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.
Terminal Expansion
The project will create a new state-of-the-art container terminal, adding approximately up to 2.6 million teu of annual handling capacity, with new deep-water berths designed to accommodate the world’s largest container vessels, supported by advanced terminal technologies and 10 new ship-to-shore cranes.
